Stay Motivated by Celebrating your Wins!
When I speak with many students I often tell them your time in college will fly by so fast you better enjoy it. Most times they give me a perplexed look and say something to the effect of “It can't fly fast enough!” I can understand their feeling. Whether it’s 2, 4 years or more, it can seem to be a pretty long journey. However, there are ways to make that time enjoyable and worthwhile.
Today I want to share with you one simple but effective tip that has helped me enjoy my life journey both in and out of college.
Celebrate your wins along the journey!
Here's the good news, you don't have to wait until you graduate to celebrate. You can celebrate wins while you're on the road to your degree!
What does a win look like? It can be something as simple as finishing an assignment before the due date, getting a good review on your paper from your professor, sticking to your study schedule or finally understanding a topic you had difficulties with before. There are lots of opportunities for you to have ‘wins’ while you're a student.
Why is doing this important?
It boosts your confidence.
It gives you a sense of accomplishment.
It gives you the drive to keep going.
It increases your joy along the journey.
It helps you to maintain consistency in your studies.
So here's a challenge for this week: Journal every win you have and do something to celebrate them!
Feel free to also share them in the comments section here as well! I'm here to celebrate with you as you continue on this journey!
