God's Everlasting Love
This is a special weekend for me as I celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ!
Today I want to share with you about God’s everlasting love.
We often forget or fail to realize the depth of God’s love for us when we take our focus off of Him and put it on our feelings, or on what we see or what we hear. However, we should remember that despite what is going on around us, God loves us with a strong, deep, everlasting love.
The situation around us may seem bleak. Financially we may be struggling; emotionally we may be wrecks; some of us may be lonely, confused or have no vision for our future. Despite what you may be battling with, remember this - each of us has a purpose and a peculiar plan. Things may be a bit messy right now but just know that one day it will make sense.
Look at the life of Joseph in Genesis 37 - 50. At one point, Joseph may have questioned God’s love for him. He was sold into slavery by his own brothers and sent to jail because of false accusations and forgotten while there. Joseph may have asked himself, “What did I do to deserve this?” In the end however, we see that what Joseph went through was all part of God’s plan and the ending was beautiful. He was able to help those same brothers among others in a huge way during the midst of a crisis. Joseph said to his brothers in Genesis 50:20“You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.”
Many of us can relate to Joseph’s journey. Our lives are filled with episodes of hurt, confusion, rejection, and discouragement. We often wonder, “What have I done to deserve this?” or “If God really loves me, why am I going through this?”. You are not alone! These thoughts go through my mind many times as well. I also have to remind myself of his love and his perfect plan for my life and this helps me feel better.
So this resurrection weekend, be encouraged! Don’t give up because things aren’t making sense right now. Pray, trust God and remember that He loves you and His plan for you is perfect.
