An Attitude of Gratitude!

Today I want to encourage with something very simple yet quite powerful. This past week I took up a challenge with my sisters at church and I’m inviting you to do it too!

We took part in a gratitude challenge which is, every night for at least a week, before going to bed, write down three things in your life that you are grateful for. Fold the paper you wrote them on and put it into a box, jar or container. Then at the end of the challenge, take them out and read them.

What’s the purpose of doing this?

Many studies on gratitude have shown an association between giving thanks and an individual’s well-being. Among some of the benefits are increased sleep quality, more hopefulness, increased resilience and increased empathy.

There's a song that I grew up singing that says... “Count your blessings name them one by one. And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.”

It’s good to take a few minutes each day to acknowledge God’s blessings!

I invite you to take up this challenge for at least a week or extend it for as long as you desire. Have an attitude of gratitude. You will be amazed at how blessed you are.

Here's a pic of my own very tropical gratitude box.

Until next blog!

Your Coach,

Karlene.
