My Journey

I grew up in beautiful Tobago, surrounded by love and care. My mother, an elementary school teacher, ensured I had many opportunities to grow through music, art, and community service. My childhood was filled with happiness and security.
But when I was 18, everything changed. Just months after a wonderful trip to London to see family, my mother passed away suddenly. Faced with this tragedy, I had a choice: to give in to grief or to keep going and achieve the dreams my mother had for me.
I chose to keep going. At 21, with little money and few belongings, I moved alone from Trinidad to Queens, New York to pursue my Bachelor’s degree. This journey marked a new beginning for
me, filled with freedom and empowerment.

Gratitude

With faith and the help of many kind people, I discovered my talents and navigated life's challenges. Each obstacle helped me grow. My supportive network – including family, pastors, church community, colleagues, and friends – believed in me and gave me strength. One key person was Valorie Burton, a well-known writer, speaker, and coach. Through her teachings at the CAPP (Coaching and Positive Psychology) Institute, I learned resilience, goal-setting, and confident decision-making, which helped me become the coach I wanted to be.
